Michaël Chassé served as co-Chair of the BQC19 Steering Committee from April 2020 to March 2021, and played a vital role in the creation of the BQC19. Dr. Chassé has most notably played a crucial part in the development and frequent updating of its Management Framework, the establishment of a multicentre ethics review process, and in the drafting of the interinstitutional agreement that all BQC19 sites must adhere to, signed in the Fall of 2020. As well, he spearheaded the development of the IT infrastructure underlying the BQC19 databases.

Answering the call from Rémi Quirion, Chief Scientist of Québec, to address the dramatic rise of the COVID-19 pandemic, Vincent Mooser rapidly established the BQC19 Steering Committee, which he directed until August 2022. Vincent Mooser's visionnary and mobilizing leadership and his numerous contributions in developping the BQC19 and ensuring the continuation of its funding in close collaboration with the Steering Committee, played a key role in its current success and impact. Vincent Mooser will continue to contribute his expertise and share his vision of the BQC19 as a member of the BQC19 Governing Committee starting in September 2022.
