THE BIOBANQUE QUÉBÉCOISE DE LA COVID-19 LAUNCHES BENTO, A NEW BQC19 DATA QUERY PLATFORM

Montreal, November 29, 2022 - The Biobanque québécoise de la COVID-19 (BQC19) is pleased to announce the launch of Bento, a new platform created to enable the research community to explore the BQC19 cohort aggregate data. It is meant for potential data users to help them determine whether the cohort would be a good match for their research needs, before going through an access application process. Bento organizes the BQC19 clinical and genomics data and makes them explorable in a way that is non-personally identifiable via a simple web interface. Data and sample applicants can later access the granular information in a private, password-protected part of the portal, after obtaining proper access.

We hope that you will take advantage of this new tool, available at: https://en.quebeccovidbiobank.ca/bento

About BQC19

The Biobanque québécoise de la COVID-19 (BQC19) is an initiative supported by the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé, Génome Québec, the Public Health Agency of Canada and, as of March 2022, the Quebec ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux, to better understand the evolution and determinants of the SARS-CoV-2 infection. The mission of the BQC19 is to ensure that scientists have access to the biological materials and data necessary for their research efforts on COVID-19, to effectively address the public health challenges posed by the pandemic on a sound scientific basis and within an appropriate ethical and legal framework.
